From a young age, Mike was captivated by the power and energy of rock and roll. Growing up in Southern California, he spent countless hours tuned into the legendary KRLA 1110 AM in Pasadena, soaking in the voices of radio greats like Wolfman Jack, Art Laboe, Dick “Huggy Boy” Hugg, and “The Burner” Humble Harve Miller. These iconic broadcasters did more than entertain him — they inspired him. Their rhythm, soul, and storytelling helped shape his passion for radio and the music that defined generations.
Carrying that influence forward, Mike created The Heart and Soul of Rock and Roll Radio Show, a program dedicated to capturing that same timeless spirit. In the early 1990s, he began his journey as a disc jockey at a popular oldies-themed nightclub in Southern California. There, he honed his craft — learning how to read a crowd, mix songs with emotion, and bring people together through music. That same dedication and energy flow through every episode of his show today, a celebration of the music, memories, and magic that define the heart and soul of rock and roll
My mission is to help make KLBP the best local radio station in the world by sharing the music, voices, and stories that make Long Beach special. I want to blast those stories across the globe with the passion and reach of a modern border blaster, carrying forward the essence of The Heart & Soul Radio Show focusing on connection, community, and the music that brings us all together.
